In 2012 La Dolce Vita was acquired by the Hildebrandt family, who have lived and worked in Oregon for over 60 years. Activity initially focused on the vineyard, with investments in equipment and farming practices to create outstanding pinot noir and pinot gris fruit. More recently plans were put in place to offer an estate pinot noir wine "ESANDE", made exclusively with La Dolce Vita Vineyard‘s blend of 115 and 777 french clone fruit. This new offering is extremely limited, and promises to be another fantastic representation of Pinot Noir, with fruit grown and wine made in Oregon! Our 2018 and 2019 vintages of ESANDE are sold out, but the 2020 will be released soon.
La Dolce Vita Vineyards is an 11 acre, sustainable Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris Vineyard located in the beautiful Tualatin Hills AVA portion of Oregon's fertile Willamette Valley. The Vineyard was originally planted in 1996, with rows facing south/southeast. The dominant soil type throughout the Vineyard is Melbourne, which is formed from sedimentary rock. In addition, some volcanic seams are present in the higher elevations. Pinot Noir clones include 115, 777 and Pommard. Our goal at La Dolce Vita Vineyards is very simple, to produce the finest quality grapes for Oregons robust wine industry. Past customers for our fruit include, Elk Cove Vineyards and Pike Road Wines, Torii Mor Winery, White Rose Estates, J. Rallison Cellars, Devona Winery, Dundee Wine Library and Ponzi Vineyards. Since 2012, La Dolce Vita has sold 100% of its fruit to area wineries. A number of these wineries produced wines made exclusively with our La Dolce Vita fruit (single vineyard designated), including White Rose Estate, Guillen Family, Dundee Wine Library and J. Rallison Cellars. An additional commercially available Magnum bottling offered from Devona was released using 100% LDV Pinot Noir fruit from the fantastic 2016 vintage. In total LDV has had 10 commercial bottlings of 100% vineyard fruit made by these wineries, with more planned in the future. Beginning with the 2018 vintage, La Dolce Vita initiated an offering of its own flagship "ESANDE" Pinot Noir wine, made exclusively from our estate fruit. This extremely limited production wine (75 cases made) is sold out. In 2019 116 cases were made of which a few are still available at our partner tasting room at the Old 47 Estate. Future vintages are planned to be offered for sale through our Club and at the old 47 estate tasting room at 6505 SW Old Hwy 47.
Our partner's tasting room, showcasing La Dolce Vita Wines, is open from 1PM to 7PM Friday through Sunday beginning Thanksgiving weekend of 2021, and is located at the new Old 47 Estate (6505 SW Old Hwy 47 in Gaston Oregon). Initially we will offer 4 Pinot Noir wines, all made with 100% La Dolce Vita Vineyards fruit, the 2018 J. Rallison, the 2018 and 2019 Dundee Wine Library Publisher, and the 2019 ESANDE. In addition, we will offer 3 other wines crafted by Ben Martin at Dauntless Wine Company, a Pinot Gris, a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir. All seven of these wines can be tasted and purchased at the tasting room. Prices are $25 for a bottle of the Pinot Gris, $30 for the Chardonnay and between $40 and $60 for the five different Pinot Noir's. Our new wine club, Club 47, will initiate in the summer of 2022 and you can sign up on the waiting list in the tasting room. Our long term goal at The Old 47 Estate is to offer wines made exclusively with La Dolce Vita Vineyards fruit by some of the best winemakers in the Willamette Valley.
